The story of the Articles of Transformation begins with a boy who grew up in the latter part of the 19th century. As a member of a poor family who were pawns of the Industrial Revolution, this young lad was discontent with his station in life. In his early twenties, he set out to find his own personal paradise, his Shangri-La. His travels led him around the world and at one point he was detained in a small village for almost five weeks due to unforeseen circumstances.

The young man's stay in the humblest of accommodations was made pleasant by the company he kept with a very old, soft-spoken gentleman. As the day approached for the young man's departure, he was summoned by his elderly friend to a private meeting in his quarters. Upon greeting his kindly host, feeble hands met his outstretched grasp not with a handshake, but with a leather folder which had been artistically tooled with great care. The old man placed the folder firmly in the hands of his soon departing visitor saying only these words:

In this folder is the prized possession of my life: The Articles of Transformation. Read these often and aloud for these words will become your thoughts... your thoughts will become your beliefs... and your beliefs will empower your actions. If you are faithful to do this, you will realize great wealth, prosperity and true peace.

No further explanation was offered. The brief meeting ended abruptly as the old gentleman bid his young friend “good day”. Overwhelmed with gratitude the young man sought out his new-found mentor the following morning. His efforts were to no avail. Sadly, he never saw his benefactor again. By the middle of the 20th century, the once impoverished lad had achieved great prominence and he had amassed a substantial fortune. He had discovered the secrets to his success encapsulated in the old man's prized possession, The Articles of Transformation.

What were these Articles and what did they contain? How could they transform a poor wandering lad into a prosperous man with great inner peace?
